Premier Window Systems, located in Merrillville, Indiana is proud to announce the Preservation & Sheffield Window by Alside has earned ENERGY STARS "Most Efficient Window Award" for 2013.  ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our environment.  Now in its 20th year, the ENERGY STAR PROGRAM has boosted the adoption of energy efficient products, practices, and services through valuable business partnerships and consumer education.

The AMI recognized windows, which include several styles within the Alside, Gentek, Revere and Preservation brands, were identified for meeting rigorous ENERGY STAR criteria, including achieving highly efficient U-Factor and SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) performance in all four U.S. climate zones. Windows with a lower U-Factor provide increased resistance to heat loss during winter months; a lower SHGC reduces solar heat penetration in the summer to conserve air-conditioning usage. The combination of precision manufacturing and advanced insulating components in the windows, such as high-performance specialty glass systems, helps to lower energy use year-round.

“Alside is extremely proud to have such a large representation of our products qualify as most efficient status,” said Dana Schindler, Vice President of Marketing. “Homeowners want windows that are attractive, durable and easy to maintain, but also highly efficient when it comes to energy performance. No matter where you’re located, Alside has a window designed to provide superior protection as well as aesthetic appeal.”

Premier Window Systems is the area's installation leader in vinyl replacement windows, vinyl siding, entry doors, soffit, fascia and gutters. The Preservation window expertly combines innovative design, precision manufacturing and superior insulating components to deliver year-round energy savings.  The two primary area of savings for consumers are the highly efficient U-Factor and SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficent).  The U-Factor represents the window's insulating quality, which helps reduce heating costs during winter months.  The SHGC represents the window's ability to prevent solar heat from penetrating the home during the summer months; therefore conserving on air condition costs.
